Map of US highways 3, 5, 7, 9 & family

US 3 is represented by the purple line from Boston to Connecticut Lakes NH.
US 5 is the purple line from Derby Line VT to New Haven CT.
US 7 is the purple line from Highgate Springs VT to Norwalk CT. The red line shows the original routing of US 7, which went through only the northwest corner of Connecticut before entering New York and continuing down to Manhattan. However, US 7 was never signed in New York City, and there is some question as to whether was actually signed in the state of New York at all. At any rate, US 7 was rerouted into Norwalk within a few years.
US 9 is the purple line from Champlain NY to Laurel DE.
US 9W is the blue line from Albany NY to Ft. Lee NJ.
US 209 is the blue line beginning in Kingston NY. Its current western terminus is in Millersburg PA; the red line extending south from there to Clarks Ferry (near Harrisburg) is the historic extent of US 209.
US 309 (historic) is the red line from Philadelphia to Waverly NY.
