The first US 241 was among the original 1926 routes, but it existed for only three years (you can view photos and get more info on this page). The second US 241 was commissioned the following year: it connected to its parent (US 41) at Murfreesboro, and ran southward to Dothan (you can view photos from there on this page). The route is considered a branch of US 31 now, as most of it has been redesignated as US 231 or US 431. The photo below is looking north on Church Street in Murfreesboro:

At the light ahead, US 231 splits off by turning right. That used to be the north beginning of US 241.
